The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) employs almost three million people. It is the largest employer in the United States, and the second-largest in the world.
Being such a huge organization, you would think the DoD should know a thing or two about numbers. Especially when it comes to factors relevant to the readiness of U.S. troops, like their health.
But after a military whistleblower report on myocarditis last year, the DoD claimed that data on the issue had been corrupted. An official report soon followed, but another whistleblower then pointed out that the DoD report was incomplete. U.S. senators are now asking questions.
